How to make a Good Post
Ever seen an absolute huge post and wished YOU could produce a post like that? It's quite simple but takes some time. Here are some pointers to help to become a roleplay or and be proud of yourself!
- Try to express heaps of feelings! Is your character happy, sad, angry or curious about something it saw, heard or smelt? For example, if they heard a rustle in the bush, express how curious or scared your canine is. Give them lots of thoughts as well. What do they think the noise is? Do they think it's prey or an enemy? It's all about the character's personality and thoughts.
- Don't rush! If you only have time to post a really crappy post that is only 10 words and miss out a lot of other characters that have addressed you, don't post at all! Wait until a better time.
- Try to have a response to everything. If your with a group of canines and one of them speaks to another wolf, try to respond to it silently. Maybe a simple smile, nod or frown? But if you're quite late to post, don't ask a question in the middle of the conversation or it will muck the whole thing up.
- Try and make your speech as detailed as possible. This will also allow the other person to make a good reply. Your conversation will become rich and detailed, creating a great post.
- Notice your surroundings. Are you in a forest, near a lake, in a barren landscape? Explain where you are!
- Try to bring your character's history into the post. Memories from the past can bring your post to a new level. Try to relate the canine's past to your post. This will also help others understand your canine better.
- Does your canine hate the other character? Or are they mates? Explain the two characters' relationship with each other. Explain their hatred, love or if they are complete strangers, write about what your canine's first impressions.
- Why is your character scared or cautious about something? Is it because of their past? Is it just instinct? Why does your canine react the way it does?
I hope this gives you a good idea of how to make a spectacular post! I hope you climb up the roleplay ladder!
